My Training & Background

Over 15 years ago I had my first Polarity session and it altered my perception of bodywork.  I was struck how the practitioner's gentle touch could be so transformative.  That working through the body rather than solely the mind accessed emotional depths & truths I thought confined to the work of psychotherapy was a profound revelation. The  deep feeling of ease and "rightness"  that stayed with me confirmed its value and changed my life's trajectory.

Now, 15 years later, it is my deepest joy to offer this work to others. Today, Polarity, Craniosacral and Massage are the center of my practice while my earlier studies in Ayurvedic nutrition & massage enhance that work.

As a NY state licensed massage therapist with thousands of hours of bodywork training there are many modalities that I incorporate in my work as I continually train to gain greater depth, knowledge and experience.

My Polarity training credentialed me as a Registered Polarity Practitioner.  Several years of study with Ellen Krueger of Soma-Psyche Institute in NYC centered on structural and energetic bodywork, and encompassing Polarity's holistic system included nutrition, health building, cleanses & movement therapy, as well as craniosacral dynamics & meditations with Reese Williams and body-centered counseling & somatic intuition with Ron DeAngelo.

A two-year training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Roger Gilchrist at The Wellness Institute earned my credential as an RCST- Registered Craniosacral Therapist. The foundation training focused on traditional osteopathic skills, craniosacral anatomy, structure and  physiology, embryological development, and the principles and practice of biodynamic awareness.

As an LMT- Licensed Massage Therapist- board certified & licensed by NY state- I completed an intensive 1000+ hour program at Finger Lakes School of Massage with an in-depth focus on anatomy, kinesiology, physiology & pathology. Extensive bodywork training included Swedish, Connective Tissue Therapy, Trigger Point, Shiatsu, Neuromuscular Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, and Hydrotherapy.  Digging deeper, I've studied Thai massage with Michael Alicia & Reinhold at CATA (Center for the Advancement of Therapeutic Arts and Reiki with Peter Goldbeck through A.R.E. of NY Edgar Cayce Center.

It was an Anthropology degree from Barnard College & post-graduate study at the International Center of Photography-ICP- that initially brought me to India in 1998. I encountered and began my studies in Ayurveda while working there as a textile designer. Knowing how Polarity integrates key principles of the Ayurvedic tradition and that Randolph Stone, the founder of Polarity, lived the last 20 years of his life in India, for me is a felicitous connection of all the dots.

The body keeps
the score.
