"your new goal is to learn to breathe through bones, to make flutes of them." ~ Destiny O. Birdsong

When we think of what sustains & supports us, our first thought is not usually of our body.

Most often we consider the external forces- people we love, places that hold an emotional tie, animals we care for & rely on for their regard, work that challenges us, an old sweater or blanket- animate & inanimate that provide a sense of comfort.

:

The body’s unwavering support always exists.

Our spine that, for most, can bend & sway yet continues to hold us up;

our ribs encircling us, embracing & protecting what is most vulnerable;

the breath that animates & sustains.
